We’re proud to be co-organizing some exciting events this week in Miami (barcamp and Geek dinner), and would love if you came by and met some of our crew. So if you are in Miami this week, please stop on by the Carnival/Arscht Center in downtown miami today for Barcamp. If you’re interested in joining us for the geek dinner, we need your RSVP by tonight at the latest.
Hope to see you all there!
One of the things we’ve been discussing with our clients lately is the new evolving platforms and how they relate to their existing businesses. The dynamics of the web are changing so now sites, especially social ones need to develop a multi prong approach to development.
Social and entertainment sites need to think of this in either a 2 or 3 prong approach. The core of this being your main property or hub, while the other prongs are your social footprint out on the web. So keep this in mind when you are building your site or project. If it is dependent on large amounts of traffic to succeed, you need to be able to move into the places where the traffic already is.
You don’t go to a stream and hope to catch the same amount of fish you’d get in a river. So why would you put yourself out in the web and expect the traffic to redirect to your little corner?
With Google’s recent announcement of the OpenSocial Platform, we will be investigating it more, and deciding how we will be integrating it into our service offerings.
Tentatively we will be offering widget development and strategy consulting. Please keep in mind that the OpenSocial platform isn’t quite as robust as what we can develop via the Facebook application platform, and is still not widely supported.
